International Women’s Day

The event was inaugurated by the SHO of Chandigarh, Mrs. Harjeet Kaur. It was a highly interactive session where the deaf women got the chance of discussing all the problems and obtaining the necessary security information and tips for a safer living. The SHO shared few very important information and ways to protect ourselves. SHO was greatly moved an impressed by the enthusiastic back and forth dialogues with deaf women. And she was interested in learning and promoting Indian Sign Lanugage among the police force.

After the session, Mrs. Reena Jain, Mrs. Mamta Nagpal and Mrs. Vandana Varshney of the Executive Committee Members of North India, National Association of the Deaf organized a few games with the participants. Towards the end, the glorious event was dismissed with the cake cutting ceremony.

We saw a gathering of around 105 deaf women from Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. We were very thankful to Chanidgarh Club Ltd. for sponsoring our organization and other supporters who helped us a lot.
